Also known as large bubble diffusers, these systems are named for the size of bubbles they create. A typical coarse bubble system consists of multiple diffusers—sometimes hundreds—mounted on PVC or stainless steel air distribution lines positioned at the bottom of a tank or basin. The most widely used design, the static tube, releases large bubbles from its base.
