Vacant Positions

 Position Title:              Electrical Instrumentation and Calibration Technician

 Department:                 Service Department

 Reports to:                    Service Manager

 Purpose of Position:

Provide technical skills to the client, for instrumentation and control devices and represent SPD Sales to our client, in the highest possible level of technical knowledge, integrity, and courtesy at all times.

 Duties & Responsibilities:

 Reporting to the Service Manager, responsible for:

  • Test and calibrate instrumentation in shop
  • Perform field service, startup and commissioning
  • Provide technical training for SPD supplied instrumentation and chemical feed equipment
  • Diagnose repair and test instruments to specification
  • Test, configure and QC new instrumentation and chemical feed equipment prior to shipment
  • Answer product technical support calls and coordinate support from principals where required
  • Prepare technical reports, documenting services provided
  • Provide product technical support to sales and engineering staff
  • Rewire control panels in the shop and on site
  • Attend project meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

 General Responsibilities: (Expected from all SPD Employees)

  • Promote and protect the good reputation of SPD
  • Protect SPD confidential information as agreed to in the EMPLOYEE CONFIDENTIAL

 INFORMATION AGREEMENT

  • Guard and protect SPD’s interest at all times
  • Always promote the products that SPD represents

 Qualifications & Other Requirements:

  • Minimum experience of 3 years in instrumentation and control
  • College diploma in a technical field, preferably in electrical or instrumentation
  • Valid driver’s license & own vehicle
  • Travel to jobsites in Ontario; some overnight stays may be required
